Environmental Sustainability and Course Related Work

 

Throughout my 4 years at Thompon Rivers Univeristy, I have written and presented on a variety of topics encompassing a variety of aspects of sustainability.  

CO-OP WORK TERM REPORT - AGROFORESTRY

 

 As part of my Co-op work term, I conducted and literature review on Agroforestry and its applications to all three pillars of sustainability..

WEATHER MODIFICATION AND CLOUD SEEDING:  THE EFFECTS ON THE HYDROLOGIC CYCLE

 

For GEOG 2050: Hydrology, I looked at a process of weather modification and how it effects the hydrologic cycle.

LANDSLIDES IN BRITISH COLUMBIA: IS THERE AN INCREASED SUCEPTABILITY DUE TO LOGGING PRACTICES? A LOOK INTO LOGGING RELATED HAZARDOUS LANDSLIDES

 

For GEOG 3129: Natural Hazards, I assessed the sustainability of past and present logging practices relating to hazardous landslides. 

THE SUSTAINABLE ENVIROMENT: A DETAILED EVALUATION OF AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE RESIDENTIAL AREA OF HEFFLEY CREEK IN KAMLOOPS

 

For GEOG 2100: Human Interaction with the Natural Environment, I was asked to conduct research on a small community where I grew up.  The research was to find out how sustainable the community is in terms on sustainable development and you were also asked to make recommendations towards further sustainability.    

As part of GEOG 3100: Environment and Resources - a group of us worked to implament a bike share program at TRU as part of a green initiative.  Click on the photo below to be taken to the full link and interview.
